Reports: Pakistan presenter Zainab leaves India days after lawyer filed complaint over anti-India tweets

The renowned Pakistan-based sports presenter Zainab Abbas stirred controversy after her social media posts of the past resurfaced over anti-India and anti-Hindu remarks. Notably, Abbas was in India to work with the media fraternity involved in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. However, there are speculations in the air that the journalist has safely left India and she is now in Dubai after an Indian lawyer reported her for some derogatory tweets.

An India-based lawyer Vineet Jindal had lodged a complaint with the cricket governing authorities of Indian cricket who are hosting the ongoing ODI World Cup. Moreover, Jindal took to his 'X' account to share snapshots of Zainab Abbas' posts along with his complaint on his handle and alleged her for insulting the country and Hindu religion.

Notably, before leaving for India, Abbas seemed to be quite excited about exploring India and its culture despite the cold terms the niegbouring country shares. Moreover, she was hoping to stay for atleast six weeks which is until the ODI World Cup 2023 gets concluded.

In the same vein, Zainab Abbas had tweeted on her social media regarding the upcoming opportunity to work in India. Furthermore, in her post, she also talked about having similar languages and a love for art that both India and Pakistan have shared for quite a long time now. Hence, Abbas was hoping to produce content for both Indian and Pakistani viewers while working in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.

For now, the gusto of the ODI World Cup 2023 is in the air as the fans have already witnessed some nail-biting contests and fireworks, with the host India starting their campaign with a thumping win over Australia on Sunday, October 8.
