The first game of the recently launched and eagerly awaited SA20 will be contested on January 10 (Tuesday) at Newlands Cricket Ground between MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals, two teams that are owned by the Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians of the Indian Premier League.

The league, which will be played from January 10 to February 11, will have a one-week gap from January 24 and February 1 to accommodate the ODI series between South Africa and England. The six-team tournament will witness 33 matches being played across six venues in South Africa, and each team will play five home and five away matches before starting the playoffs.

Big names like the World Cup-winning skipper Jos Buttler, spinner Rashid Khan, English all-rounders Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone, former England skipper Eoin Morgan, Jofra Archer, Ireland’s Joshua Little, Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis, and West Indies stars Alzarri Joseph, Jason Holder, and Obed McCoy are set to feature in the tournament.
