Durban Super Giants have made a mid-season change ahead of the business end of the SA20 2025-26 season by roping in England all-rounder Liam Livingstone as a replacement for New Zealand batter Devon Conway. DSG is currently placed in the middle of the points table; it has brought in Livingstone in hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
Conway has been released from the Durban Super Giants squad for the remainder of the SA20 season due to national commitments. The left-handed batter has been selected in New Zealand’s squad for their white-ball tour of India, which includes three ODIs and five T20Is scheduled between January 11 and January 31.
Liam Livingstone picked for INR 13 crore by SRH for IPL 2026
Livingstone is seen as one of the most destructive middle-order batters in the format, as the England all-rounder has a career T20 strike rate of 145.06. At the IPL 2026 auction, he was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping INR 13 crore after an intense bidding war with Lucknow Super Giants. Despite going unsold in his first attempt, SRH showed faith in his abilities.
Livingstone had a decent individual season during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s title-winning IPL 2025 campaign, scoring 112 runs in eight innings. His white-ball form since then has been solid. He captained Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred, finishing as the team’s leading run-scorer with 241 runs, while also contributing with the ball. He followed it up with a strong T20 Blast season for Lancashire.
After five matches, the Durban Super Giants find themselves in fourth place on the SA20 points table. With one win, two losses, and two no-results, and having eight points but remains behind Joburg Super Kings, Paarl Royals, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape. DSG are set to face Pretoria Capitals at Kingsmead on January 7.
