T20 Mumbai League 2025: Shreyas Iyer goes to Sobo Mumbai Falcons

Ace batter Shreyas Iyer has been roped in by SoBo Mumbai Falcons ahead of the 2025 edition of the T20 Mumbai League. The star cricketer will now be seen plying his trade for the side in the upcoming edition of the tournament. He has also been announced as an Icon Player for the side. Iyer, who earned back his BCCI central contract recently, would be hoping for another T20 trophy to his name following the success he has had over the last year or so.

A few other India stars have also managed to get a side for themselves, which includes the likes of First-Class skipper Ajinkya Rahane, all-rounder Shardul Thakur, and ace opener Prithvi Shaw as well. Suryakumar Yadav, who captains India in T20 Internationals, has secured a spot with Triumph Knights, whereas star all-rounder Shivam Dube will be seen playing for Arcs Andheri.

North Mumbai Panthers, meanwhile, have acquired the out-of-favour Prithvi Shaw for their squad ahead of the tournament. Shaw will look to regain touch with the side and find a spot back in the Mumbai's all-format squads ahead of the upcoming Indian domestic season.

Shardul, also known as Palghar Express, has been signed by the Thane Eagle Strikers, whereas Test specialist Sarfaraz Khan will be batting for Aakash Tigers MWS. Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande, who has played T20s for India, has been brought in by the MSC Maratha Royals.

It is worth mentioning that star India cricketer Rohit Sharma, who hanged his boots from the T20Is, has been named as the Face of the Season for the third edition of the tournament. He won't be taking part in the league, though. The third season will be played shortly after IPL 2025 ends, and the full schedule will be released by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) shortly.
