Former India wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani opined that Suryakumar Yadav's men are well-prepared and will come out victorious in their clash against Pakistan in the 2026 T20 World Cup on Sunday, February 15. The arch-rivals will meet at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

There had been a lot of chaos ahead of this high-voltage clash, with the Pakistan government initially instructing Salman Ali Agha and Co. to boycott it completely. However, they have taken a U-turn after diplomatic and financial pressure from the ICC and cricketing stakeholders.

When asked to share his views on Pakistan's change in stance, Kirmani decided not to give much importance to it and instead said that India are in great form and should win the contest on Sunday.

"Let them say whatever they want to, all I know is India as a team is in great form and they are the reigning champions. Their batting and bowling lineup is well prepared, and India will win," Kirmani said during an interview at the airport in Kolkata.

Both teams have started the tournament strongly. India have picked up wins against the USA and Namibia so far. They defeated the USA by 29 runs and followed it up with a 93-run victory against Namibia. On the other hand, Pakistan began with a tight three-wicket win against the Netherlands before trouncing the USA by 32 runs.

The team which win on Sunday will book their place in the Super Eight stage of the competition. For the unversed, the top two teams from each of the four groups will advance to the Super Eights, which begin on Saturday, February 21.

Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya have been the top performers for India in the marquee event so far. On the other hand, Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Tariq have done well for the Men in Green, and they will look to play a key role on Sunday.
