Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was seen practicing a day before the high-octane clash against Pakistan on February 15 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo as part of the T20 World Cup 2026.
During the practice session, Suryakumar entertained his teammates by imitating Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq, who has recently been at the center of discussions worldwide. Suryakumar copied Tariq’s bowling action perfectly, even pausing mid-run-up, something Tariq is known to do regularly during matches.
The Indian skipper was seen bowling in the nets to No. 3 batter Tilak Varma, drawing laughter from teammates as he recreated the spinner’s unique style.

Speaking about both teams’ campaigns in the T20 World Cup, India and Pakistan have won their opening two matches, setting the stage for a high-intensity battle as they look to seal their place in the Super Eight stage.
India enter the tournament as the defending champions, having defeated South Africa in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup. As one of the co-hosts of the 2026 edition, the Men in Blue will be eager to assert their dominance and continue their winning momentum. Pakistan, however, will be equally determined to rise to the occasion. With both sides in fine form and qualification for the next round at stake, fans can expect a fiercely contested encounter between the arch-rivals in Colombo.
India and Pakistan have faced each other in 16 T20Is, with India dominating the rivalry by winning 12 matches. Pakistan have won three encounters, while one match ended in a tie. The team that wins this contest will secure qualification for the Super Eight stage.
