Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be locking horns in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 blockbuster at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, October 23. As millions of die-hard cricket fans from both nations are geared up for this mouth-watering clash, rain gods are expected to intervene and play a spoilsport and reportedly, there are chances of a truncated contest taking place.

However, there was a clarity earlier in the day on Saturday, October 22 that the weather has improved in Melbourne which has thereby given some good news and hopes for the passionate cricket enthusiasts. Without further ado, here's a look at the latest weather conditions in the Australian city ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash in a few hours time.

What is the current weather condition in Melbourne?

As per reports in Accuweather, the current weather in Melbourne is 17 degrees Celsius and the conditions are cloudy with the cloud cover still being a 100%. The humidity is 93%. Moreover, a spell of rain has been predicted in the evening and it will be interesting to see if DLS comes into play.

Meanwhile, the Australian Government's Bureau of Meteorology has predicted a 70% chance of rain in the city on Sunday, the 23rd i.e. on the day of the marquee clash. There are chances of a thunderstorm making an impact in late afternoon and evening. The scheduled time for the contest to kick off is 7 PM Australian Eastern Standard time.

It now remains to be seen whether the rain gods will show some mercy on the big day or will the city be drenched in rain forcing a truncated match to decide the eventual winner.

Nonetheless, both teams would be bringing their A-game to the field irrespective of the nature of the weather.  India have a score to settle against the arch-rivals. They were defeated by the Men in Green by a comprehensive margin of 10 wickets in the last edition in Dubai which shattered their 29-year World Cup record.

Pakistan's five-wicket victory in the Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 encounter last month eventually ended up knocking the Indian team out from the competition.
