Dhanashree Verma, Yuzvendra Chahal's former wife, has been accusing the star leg-spinner almost every other day in the OTT reality show "Rise and Fall". They were granted a divorce on March 20, 2025, by the Bandra family court in Mumbai, on a joint petition for mutual consent. The couple tied the knot in December 2020, but had been living separately since June 2022.
Amid Dhanashree's allegations, Shikhar Dhawan featured in a reel with his long-time friend Chahal. In the video, Chahal is heard being told in the background audio, "We'll get you married, son. Let me get married first." In this hilarious video, the leg-spinner is being portrayed as Dhawan's son.
Chahal, who looks shocked, asks, "Papa, are you married?" Dhawan's girlfriend Sophie Shine enters the fray. The former India opener says, "This is your third mother." Dhawan then gives Chahal, who has his hands on his head in disbelief, something to eat. This video went viral on social media in no time.

Dhawan retired from all forms of international and domestic cricket on August 24, 2024. Since then, he has been playing in Legends leagues around the world. Recently, he was one of the first Indian players to take an active stand of not playing against Pakistan during the World Championship of Legends in England.
Meanwhile, Chahal is trying to reclaim his spot in the Indian team. The highest wicket-taker of all time in IPL has not played international cricket since August 2023. Chahal has played 72 ODIs and 80 T20Is for India, bagging 121 and 96 wickets, respectively.
Last year, Chahal was a part of the Punjab Kings setup. The 35-year-old accounted for 16 wickets from 14 matches at an average of 26.88. Chahal will look to make a mark in domestic cricket this season and earn a recall to the Indian team.
