In the 15th match of the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, Isuru Udana produced one of the most spectacular fielding moments of the 2025 season, pulling off a brilliant one-handed running catch to dismiss opener Aneurin Donald. The Ajman Titans went on to defeat the Royal Champs by seven wickets, but it was Udana’s brilliance early in the chase that caught attention.
The contest featured two teams coming off contrasting results. Ajman Titans entered the match with a win, while Royal Champs were desperate to break their losing streak, having suffered three successive defeats. Titans chose to bowl first, and while their bowlers kept things in check, the game’s standout moment came in the opening over of the Titans’ chase when Udana displayed emphatic skill in the outfield.
Chasing 110 for victory, Titans started with Aneurin Donald smashing 16 off just five balls, including a four and two sixes. However, Daniel Sams, on the fifth ball of the first over, delivered a short ball that the batter attempted to hit over mid-off. Udana sprinted backwards from mid-off and stretched out his left hand, and plucked a stunning one-handed catch while still moving backwards. Donald’s short stay ended at 16(5), giving the Champs a much-needed breakthrough.

Despite the early wicket, the Titans continued their dominant run chase. Alex Hales (21 off 10), Rilee Rossouw (37 off 20), and captain Moeen Ali (29* off 10) ensured the target was achieved in just 8.2 overs as Titans finished at 112/3, sealing a comfortable seven-wicket victory.

The defeat added to Royal Champs’ woes, extending their losing streak to four matches and keeping them at the bottom of the table with zero points. On the other hand, Ajman Titans, meanwhile, strengthened their campaign with their second straight win, placing themselves in the mid-table race. As for Udana, apart from the catch, he went wicketless in his one over. Meanwhile, in the four game played, the Sri Lankan pacer has picked three wickets at an economy 12.28.
