[WATCH] Abu Dhabi T10 2025: Odean Smith's tumbling stunner sends back Dwaine Pretorius

Odean Smith produced one of the most spectacular moments of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, pulling off a stunning forward-roll catch during the 17th match between Northern Warriors and Vista Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Vista Riders went on to win the contest by five wickets.

The incident occurred during the penultimate over of the innings, bowled by Odean himself. After beginning the over with two consecutive wides, the pacer delivered a well-directed ball to Dwaine Pretorius, who chipped it in the air. Smith sprinted forward, launched into a full dive, executed a forward roll, and completed a remarkable tumbling catch to dismiss the South African.

Earlier, Northern Warriors posted 112/4 in their 10 overs. Johnson Charles anchored the innings with a 44-run knock off 30 deliveries and scripteda 73-run stand with Shimron Hetmyer for the second wicket. In the closing stages, Azmatullah Omarzai and Thisara Perera combined to hammer 34 runs off just 11 balls for the fifth wicket, giving the Northern Warriors a strong finish. Dhananjaya Lakshan impressed with the ball, returning figures of 2/17.

In reply, Vista Riders chased down the target in 9.2 overs, led by skipper Faf du Plessis’ unbeaten 53 off 25 balls, which included six fours and two sixes. The Vista Riders captain added 43 for the opening wicket with Unmukt Chand before a series of small but effective partnerships from the middle order helped guide the team home comfortably.

In the overall context of the tournament, Quetta Qavalry remained at the top of the points table with five wins from as many matches. Vista Riders stand second with three wins in four games, while Northern Warriors sit sixth with two victories from five outings. Vista Riders have three matches left in the league stage, whereas Northern Warriors have two.
