Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was at his best in the eighth match of the MLC 2025, as he smashed 106*(49) against the Los Angeles Knight Riders. The Washington skipper hit Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Jason Holder, and others all over the park after getting set. From 11*(15) at one point in the innings with no boundaries, he ended up registering 106*(49), which helped his side to post a huge total of 208/5 on the board.
The right-handed batter walked in to bat when his side was reduced to 68/4 after 7.2 overs. The wicket was slow and not easy to bat on. One could not hit the ball from the word 'go' and hence had to buy some time on the pitch.
That was exactly what Maxwell did, as he saw through the tough period. The Washington skipper, however, was ready to smash the bowlers as he was well-set and knew how the wicket was behaving.

Maxwell's momentum-changing knock helps Washington claim a massive 113-run win
Maxwell launched the attack on the Knight Riders bowlers, who had no answers to the Freedom skipper. The star batter targeted the long-off and the deep mid-wicket region well and scored a majority of his runs in those regions with some gigantic sixes. The Australian made his intentions clear by smashing Sunil Narine, the best bowler of the opposition.

He then started to smash the likes of Jason Holder, Andre Russell, Corne Dry, Tanveer Sangha, and Shadley van Schalkwyk all over the park. Maxwell hit the ball against the turn and picked the slower ones well to dispatch them for maximum runs. His innings changed the complexion of the match completely.
In his stay in the middle, the right-handed batter hit two fours and a whopping 13 sixes on a challenging surface. As a result, Freedom were able to post 208/5 on the board, which was hard to chase. Maxwell's innings helped his side gain the momentum and eventually win the match by a huge margin of 113 runs.
