India’s batting stalwart Rohit Sharma was seen in an unpleasant incident after he returned to Mumbai from Jamnagar on January 4. The veteran cricketer expressed his discomfort after being mobbed by fans at the airport, with a video of the incident surfacing on social media soon after.
In the video clip that has been circulating online, Rohit can be seen reacting angrily as several fans surrounded him and tried to shake his hand. The Indian batter pointed fingers at the fans, while appearing visibly upset, and asked them to step back and make way for him. While initially he greeted one of the fans, the situation escalated moments later, when others crowded around him, prompting a strong reaction.

Rohit had reportedly travelled to Jamnagar along with his family to celebrate his daughter Samaira’s birthday. The Nagpur-born cricketer returned to Mumbai following the private family event when the incident took place.
On the cricketing front, the star batter is set to return to action later this month when Team India will take on a three-match ODI series against New Zealand, with the first ODI scheduled on January 11 in Vadodara.
The right-handed batsman enjoyed an impressive 2025 as the no. 1-ranked ODI batter in the ICC rankings. He averaged 50 in the format last year with two centuries and six fifties and won the Champions Trophy as a captain, leading the charge with a Player of the Match performance in the finals.
