The Indian Cricket team had a good year in ODIs in 2023 as they managed to win six out of the seven bilateral series played during the year. The Rohit Sharma-led side even had a near-perfect campaign in the ODI World Cup 2023 winning ten matches on the trot before losing to Australia in the all-important final.
The Men in Blue played 35 ODI matches in 2023 winning 27 out of those and lost seven games with one game ending in no result. The success on the field also translated to monetary success for most of the players as several players managed to earn hefty amounts of match fees through the 50-over format.

Notably, the BCCI pays INR 6 Lakh for every ODI played to the players featuring in the playing XI. Taking all the data into account, wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav is the highest earner from the 50-over format having played 30 matches and earning a total of INR 1.80 Crore through match fee. Yadav also had a phenomenal year with the ball as he finished as the highest wicket-taker in ODIs in 2023 with 49 wickets to his name.
Opening batter Shubman Gill, who also finished as the leading run scorer in ODIs in 2023 (1584 runs), finished on the second spot having played 29 matches and earning INR 1.74 Crore.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are on the third spot
The third spot is taken by Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul who’ve played 27 matches each and earned INR 1.62 Crore. All Rounder Ravindra Jadeja is on the fourth spot earning INR 1.56 Crore from 26 matches while fast bowler Mohammed Siraj is on the fifth spot having earned INR 1.50 Crore from 25 matches. Siraj is also the second-highest wicket-taker in the 50-over format in 2023 with 44 scalps to his name followed by Mohammed Shami who picked 43 wickets from 19 matches.
