WPL 2026: Full Registered Players List for the Auction

The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega-auction is all set to take place on Thursday, November 27, in New Delhi. The event comes just weeks after India lifted the ODI World Cup for the first time. Notably, this is the WPL’s first-ever mega auction, a complete revamp for all five franchises. A total of 277 players, including 194 Indians and 83 overseas cricketers, will go under the hammer for 73 available slots, of which 23 are overseas. Each team can build a squad of up to 18 players, with a minimum of 15, and a maximum of six overseas members.

The auction will begin with the marquee set featuring eight headline players, including Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh, Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone, Alyssa Healy, Amelia Kerr, Meg Lanning, and Laura Wolvaardt. India’s World Cup hero Deepti, the Player of the Tournament, is expected to draw massive attention, while Australian opener Phoebe Litchfield and India’s young left-arm spinner N. Shree Charani are also likely to trigger bidding wars.

UP Warriorz enter with biggest purse

Among the teams, UP Warriorz enter with the biggest purse of INR 14.50 crore, after retaining only uncapped batter Shweta Sehrawat. They also hold four RTM cards, with the option to get back players from their 2025 squad. Gujarat Giants, with only Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney retained, have INR 9 crore to rebuild and three RTM options (Indian players only). 2024 edition winners, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have INR 6.15 crore and one RTM card, while defending champions Mumbai Indians (INR 5.75 crore) and Delhi Capitals (INR 5.7 crore) have no RTM options after retaining the maximum five players each. This auction will also introduce the Right to Match (RTM) option for the first time, an attempt to buy back released players.

Mega-auction to follow two-part structure

Several big names are absent from the list, including Australia’s Tahlia McGrath and Sophie Molineux, and South Africa’s Dane van Niekerk. The Associate-player rule continues, with teams allowed a fifth overseas starter if she is from an Associate nation. Only four Associate players are registered this year.

The auction will follow a two-part structure, with 67 players presented first, followed by an accelerated round where teams can nominate unsold or unpresented players from the overall list. The WPL 2026 season begins January 7, with matches split between Navi Mumbai and Vadodara.
