Former Indian cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy feels Deepti Sharma will attract a lot of interest at the upcoming mega auction for the 2026 Women's Premier League. The event is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on November 27.

She highlighted that Deepti has been a valuable asset with bat and ball in the past seasons of the WPL. The ex-middle order batter said that plenty of franchises will target acquiring the all-rounder.

"Deepti Sharma is a proven match-winner from earlier WPL seasons, performing brilliantly with both bat and ball. She also won the Player of the Tournament award in the recently-concluded Women's ODI World Cup. Her demand will definitely be high in the mega auction, and every franchise will be watching her closely," Krishnamurthy stated on JioHostar's 'Most Wanted'.

She then went onto list the franchises that might be interested in having Deepti as a part of their squad going into the fourth edition of the WPL.

"Gujarat Giants should definitely consider Deepti Sharma in the mega auction. Delhi
Capitals might also target her as an Indian player who strengthens both batting and
bowling. UP Warriorz could be the third team interested after Gujarat and Delhi in
acquiring her services," she added.

Deepti registered 507 runs and picked up 27 wickets for UP Warriorz across the three seasons in WPL so far. She was released by the team recently after the Warriorz surprisingly went ahead with only one retention (Shweta Sehrawat).

Deepti is amongst the 19 players with a base price of INR 50 lakh. She is also in the marquee set of players which also contains Renuka Singh Thakur, Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone, Alyssa Healy, Amelia Kerr, Meg Lanning and Laura Wolvaardt.
