Team India will take on New Zealand in the second ODI in Raipur following their thrilling victory in the series opener. The hosts were pushed to their limits after a breathtaking assault from Michael Bracewell almost pulled off a miraculous chase for the Kiwis.

After prevailing in a last-over thriller in Hyderabad, the Men in Blue will be looking to clinch the series with a victory in the second ODI. However, Rohit Sharma will be aware of the opposition after they proved their credentials as the no. 1 ranked ODI team in the series opener.

Despite missing several key senior players, Tom Latham's New Zealand gave a great account of themselves in the opening match and will be looking to get over the line in the decisive second ODI at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium on Saturday, January 21.

Pitch Conditions

Much like the previous encounter, the surface in Raipur will also suit the batters. Another run-fest is on the cards, with the team winning the toss likely to bat first at the venue as the pitch slows down considerably in the second innings.

The first ODI between the two sides saw Indian opener Shubman Gill enter the record books as he became the fifth Indian player to register a double century, the youngest so far, in ODIs. He also became the fastest Indian to 1000 runs in the 50-over format. While Gill dazzled with the bat, Mohammed Siraj continued his imperious run with the ball, grabbing a second successive four-for in ODIs. Continuing with the winning combination, the Indian team is unlikely to make any changes for the second game.
