The UAE T20I Tri-Series 2025 will kickstart with Afghanistan and Pakistan taking on each other at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. This will be the first time in almost two years that the two teams will be meeting each other in the shiortest format.

As many as 16 out of 17 members from the Afghanistan setup are the same from their squad for the Asia Cup 2025. Afghanistan have not featured in a T20I in 2025, with the series against Zimbabwe in December last year being their last.

On the other hand, Pakistan have had plenty of cricketing action their way. They have played seven T20I series after their underwhelming campaign at the 2024 T20 World Cup, though they have managed to win only three of those.

Afghanistan and Pakistan are placed in the same group (Group B) in the Asia Cup. The upcoming triangular series will serve as a perfect indicator of how these teams stand against each other in the shortest format before the commencement of the eight-team tournament.

Pitch Report

The dimensions of the ground have always favoured the batters in Sharjah. Batting is expected to get better as the game progresses, however, the pitch has been double-paced on several occasions in the past, which could bring spinners into play.
