Delhi Capitals' IPL Records and Stats against Gujarat Titans

Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 40 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at their home ground, Arun Jaitley Stadium, on Wednesday, April 24. Both teams have been inconsistent so far in the tournament, having played eight matches so far. GT are currently sixth in the points table with four wins, while DC is eighth with three wins.

Considering the recent performance and standings, the visitors have an edge over the hosts. Titans are coming on the back of a three-wicket win against Punjab Kings (PBKS), while Delhi lost their previous game by 67 runs to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, there will be no lack of confidence in the DC camp as they recorded a comprehensive six-wicket win when they faced GT last week. 

Delhi are among the few franchises that have not won the title despite being a part of the league in 2008. Meanwhile, the Titans started their journey in 2022 but they won the prestigious title in their debut season. The two have faced each other four times during this period, sharing two wins each.

Top Wicket-takers for DC against GT

Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has taken the most wickets for DC against GT. The DC opening bowler has hunted six wickets in four innings. Notably, in the last match against GT, he took a wicket at an economy of just 4.50. Veteran pacer Ishant Sharma is second on the list with four wickets.

DC's highest total against GT in IPL history

DC recorded their highest score against GT on their home turf in the 7th game of the 2023 season. A sluggish batting performance restricted DC’s score to 162 in 20 overs. On the back of Sai Sudarshan’s unbeaten 62, the visitors chased down the total in 18.1 overs.

Interestingly, DC lost the game when they posted their highest total against GT and won when they fought with their lowest total. A match-winning performance from GT pacer Mohammed Shami (4/11) bundled out Delhi for 130/8. Despite Hardik Pandya's half-century, DC won by five runs in a low-scoring affair thanks to a collective bowling effort.
