England (ENG) and Bangladesh (BAN) will face each other in match No. 7 of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on 10 October 2023 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
England will be coming into the contest on the back of a disastrous opening game against New Zealand. Though they managed to score 286 runs, but were outclassed by the brilliance of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, losing the game by a massive nine wickets with 82 balls to spare. They created a unique record where all their eleven batters scored runs in double digits, with Joe Root top scoring with 77 runs. They would look to erase the first game memories and bounce back in the second game.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, won the first game against Afghanistan in the same venue by six wickets. They were clinical with the ball as they bowled out Afghanistan cheaply for 156 runs. Both Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were phenomenal with the ball, picking up three wickets each. In the batting department, Najmul Shanto scored an unbeaten 59, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 57 to help Bangladesh ease the chase. Bangladesh will look to carry the winning momentum.
