Pakistan skipper Babar Azam recently played his 100th ODI against New Zealand and went on to add another feather to his cap by becoming the player with the most runs after playing 100 ODIs. Though the prolific batter failed to get going in his landmark outing, he has now become the fastest player to amass 5000 runs.
However, if Azam's records are compared to another modern-day great Virat Kohli, here is how the numbers stand. After playing 100 ODIs, Kohli had 4107 runs in 97 innings averaging 48.89 at a strike rate of 86.01. The stylish Indian had 13 centuries and 22 half-centuries to his name after playing 100 matches in the format.
While talking of Azam after 100 ODIs, he went on to grab record 5089 runs in 98 innings averaging 59.17 at a strike rate of 89.24. The Pakistan star has 18 centuries and 26 half-centuries to his credit after 100 outings in the ODIs.
While Azam is currently occupied with national duties, the former India skipper is having another stellar season in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Playing for RCB, the right-hander has amassed 419 runs in 10 matches so far with a strike rate of 135.16. He is only behind skipper Faf du Plessis' tally on the list of highest run-scores for RCB in IPL 2023.
