Delhi Capitals (DC) lock horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 67 of IPL 2023 on a doubleheader Saturday, May 20, at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Super Kings defeated the Capitals by a 27-run margin when both sides met previously in the reverse fixture in Chennai. Notably, it will be the last league match for both sides as the tournament reaches closer to the Playoffs.
It’s been another disappointing campaign for the Capitals as they are already out of contention for a place in the final four. David Warner’s side has played 13 games with just five victories and eight defeats. With ten points and a net run rate of -0.572, they are placed in the ninth spot in the table. The Capitals failed to make it to the playoffs in the 2022 season as well when they ended up fifth.
On the other hand, a victory here would guarantee a top-four finish for the Super Kings. They have played 13 matches so far with seven wins and five losses. Their one encounter with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ended with no result. With 15 points and an NRR of +0.381, they are placed second in the table. (All standings till Match No. 65). Four-time IPL winners CSK will look to claim a win over DC and fix their place in the final four.
Head-to-Head: DC and CSK have met each other 28 times in the league with the Capitals winning on ten occasions and the Super Kings on 18.
