In a thrilling 64th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) outclassed Gujarat Titans (GT) by 33 runs in a high-octane contest.
Opting to bowl first, Gujarat Titans were left stunned by a batting masterclass from Lucknow, as the visiting side posted a mammoth 235/2 in their 20 overs, thanks to explosive knocks from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran. Marsh hammered a blistering 117 off 64 balls, peppering the boundary with 10 fours and 8 sixes, while Pooran remained unbeaten on 56 off 27 balls, maintaining the tempo till the end. Aiden Markram contributed a quick 36 before falling to R Sai Kishore.
GT’s bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, with only Sai Kishore and Arshad Khan managing to pick up a wicket each. Despite Rashid Khan and Siraj trying to apply pressure, the LSG batters were relentless.
In response, Gujarat Titans started aggressively, with Shubman Gill (35 off 20) and Sai Sudharsan (21 off 16) keeping the chase alive. However, regular wickets derailed their momentum. Sherfane Rutherford and Shahrukh Khan played handy knocks, but none could anchor the innings till the end. GT finished with 202/9 in 20 overs.
LSG’s bowling was led by William O’Rourke, who took 3 wickets for just 27 runs. Avesh Khan and part-timer Ayush Badoni also chipped in with two wickets each, tightening the screws during the death overs.
