SRH vs RR, IPL 2024: Records and Stats at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad

Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, will see the sixth-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) host the table toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR) in what is the only scheduled league stage match between the respective teams in this year's IPL.

In their last match, Sunrisers Hyderabad slumped to a rather abject loss against Chennai Super Kings at Chennai. None of SRH's players could put up any face-saving performances and SRH ended up slumping to a 78-run loss. 

RR though had a very contrasting result in their last match which was against Lucknow Super Giants at Lucknow. Sandeep Sharma was the only bowler who did anything of note as RR ended up conceding 197 and were in trouble at one point having lost 3 wickets in a space of 14 deliveries. But Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel dug them out of the hole as RR registered their eighth win in nine matches this year. 

SRH currently have 10 points, which is the same as two other teams. A win in this match will help SRH break into the top four, but they could potentially be involved in a 12-point deadlock as many as four other teams if CSK is to beat PBKS. RR though, do not have any such deadlocks to worry about, they 16 points on the points table while the next best is 12, but RR will want to keep their winning momentum up, especially now that they have matched the winning streak they had before their only loss this season.

Sharma's track record against Boult has been very mediocre, in 18 balls, he has scored only 11 runs against the Kiwi pacer and has been dismissed once with an average of 11 and a strike rate of 61.11.

The one name that has been tormenting bowling attacks this season has been none other than Travis Head. He will once again be required to unleash that form of his if SRH are to have any chance of succeeding in this match.

Rajasthan Royals

Undoubtedly their most consistent batsman, skipper Sanju Samson has been at the forefront of RR's batting charge this season and will be bolstered by his selection to the T20 World Cup squad. His good form will be the most key component for RR.
