Pre-tournament favorites India and England have made it to the final four and both sides are all set to lock horns in semi-final two of the T20 World Cup 2022 on Thursday, November 10 at the Adelaide Oval. Rohit Sharma and his side topped Group 2 with eight points while Jos Buttler’s English team ended up in the second position with seven points and a better net run rate than the hosts and defending champions Australia.

Inaugural 2007 edition winners team India began their campaign with an emphatic victory on the final delivery against arch-rivals Pakistan in Melbourne. The Men in Blue sealed victories in three of the remaining four matches against Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe with the only loss coming against South Africa. 2010 champions England also started their tournament with a win against Afghanistan before suffering a shocking five-run loss to Ireland by the DLS method.

Their game with the Aussies got abandoned due to rain with England then coming out trumps against New Zealand and Sri Lanka to seal a place in the final four. Both sides have never met each other in a knockout match of the T20 World Cup before as this will be the first occasion of it. India have reached the finals of the competition twice with a victory in the 2007 edition and a loss in 2014. The same goes for England who won the marquee tournament in 2010 and suffered heartbreak in 2016 to Carlos Brathwaite’s heroics. An exciting semi-final awaits the Indian and English fans around the globe before the mega and the summit clash on November 13 in Melbourne.
