From being sidelined for India A selection on disciplinary reasons to making debut for the national team of India. This is the story of 33-year-old Krishnappa Gowtham who is playing for Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing IPL.

The 33-year-old had made it to the IPL 2022 mega auction at a base price of INR 50 lakh as a few teams including the likes of the two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders and the 2020 finalists Delhi Capitals entered the bidding war only to back out when the bidding price started going up. The Lucknow-based franchise completed the formalities by bringing him on board for the 15th edition of the marquee tournament.
