The second part of the CricTracker’s World Cup cricket quiz covers some more interesting trivia including some lesser known head to head records. Do you know which team has the best record against mighty Australians? Which team did India defeat in 2015 for the first time in a World Cup match having struggled in the past? Who managed to get past the opening round most times across the 11 editions of the World Cup?

The quiz tests your knowledge on the player who holds the best average and strike-rate with the ball in the competition having picked a wicket on the only ball he bowled. You can learn more on the trivia about the famous England-South Africa semi-final in the 1992 edition. South Africa needed 22 from 13 balls for making it to the final in their maiden appearance at the World Cup. However, a spell of rain ensured only one more ball was possible.

The big screen incorrectly showed that the Saffers need to chase all the 22 runs on the final ball. Seven years later, they tried to introduce the technology on the field when skipper Hansie Cronje and pacer Allan Donald put on earpieces. The idea was for Coach Bob Woolmer to pass the advice if Donald wasn’t bowling in rhythm and share tactical decisions with Cronje.

The South Africans were successful with this during the warm-up game as it attracted no comment. They followed it in their first match at the event against India. The issue was raised in front of the umpires who were not sure about the legality but had to take a call as it was unfair. ICC didn’t make any sanctions as the idea wasn’t against the rules but making a trail it in an ICC event was not called for.

The below quiz helps you discover the only Indian who was a part of an ODI World Cup winning squad without playing even one game and also the youngest player to be part of World Cup final winning XI. You can also find a surprise name that holds the record for scoring the fastest fifty in CWCs for India with no player coming close to it before and after that knock.
