The Women’s World T20 is happening in the West Indies where ten teams are locking horns to come out as the ultimate winner and lift the cup. The tournament started on November 9 with India winning against New Zealand after a magnificent century by Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
The tournament is about to enter the semi-final stage with only four matches left to be played in the group stages. There are two groups with five teams each and the two teams, which will finish at the top in their respective groups, will advance through to the semi-finals. The final is scheduled to be played on November 24 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Shamsi supports his team
Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was savagely trolled by former Windies captain Darren Sammy after the low scoring match between Windies and South Africa which the hosts won by 31 runs. The spinner called Sammy on Twitter after an exceptional bowling performance by his women’s cricket team, restricting Windies to a low score of 107 for 7 in 20 overs.
The 28-year-old backed the South-African ladies to chase the total and beat the hosts comprehensively. However, it proved out to be the classic case of counting your chickens before they hatch for Shamsi. The South African wrist spinner posted a video on Twitter during the match, backing the Proteas women to beat their Windies counterpart while chasing a small target. However, South Africa fell well short of the Windies total, giving Sammy the opportunity to turn the tables on Shamsi and savagely troll the South African.
Shamsi on his Twitter mentioned former Windies captain Darren Sammy and posted a video saying “@darensammy88 I’m backing the @OfficialCSA Ladies to get over the line.
