Dipika Pallikal slams reporter for calling Dinesh Karthik 'Unattractive'

Indian squash player Dipika Pallikal was understandably angry at a men’s lifestyle website. She bashed a reported for labelling her husband Dinesh Karthik “unattractive”. A reporter of a men’s lifestyle website listed Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik as an unattractive man in his article. Pallikal and Karthik had tied the knot earlier this year.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik and the country’s top-ranked squash player Dipika Pallikal exchanged vows in the first of their two wedding ceremonies on August 18. Dipika belongs to a Christain family and a ceremony as per the religion’s traditions was held in Chennai yesterday, with only close friends and family members of the couple in attendance.

The two became friends working under the same trainer, Basu Shankar, but something dramatic had to happen for them to get closer.”We got to know each other at the gym, but there was nothing more, contrary to what most media reports seem to suggest,” said Dipika. The couple got engaged on November 15, 2013.

Apart from Karthik, the article also listed Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan who is married to beauty queen Aishwarya Rai and Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik who is married to India’s tennis star Sania Mirza along with several others.

Dinesh Karthik has played 23 Test matches for India, scoring 1000 runs along with seven half-centuries and a century. In ODI’s, Karthik played 71 games and notched up 1313 runs with seven half-centuries. He has also registered 105 catches and 14 stumping to his credit.
