The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) yesterday announced England Under-19 cricket team’s tour of India where they will play a five-match ODI series and two-match Test series. The matches will be played in January and February 2017.

The series will kick off with the first ODI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on January 30, the second and third ODIs will be played at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) in Mumbai. They will once again move back to the Wankhede for the last two matches of the ODI series. Both the teams then move south to Chennai for the four-day Tests. The first will start from February 8 and the last match of the tour will kick off on February 21 at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

At the moment the England seniors team is in India and they aren’t in the best of the positions as they are two down in the series with the fourth Test underway in Mumbai. The game is poised well in balance after the visitors posted 400 runs in the first inning after batting for over a day and a half. Englishmen once again failed to get to terms with the Indian spinners as Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja shared all the ten wickets amongst them.

India in their reply have been solid and are off to a great start with Murali Vijay scoring his 8th Test century, skipper Virat Kohli is also going strong having reached the milestone of 1000 Test runs in the year.
