The pace bowlers once again did the job for India in the ongoing Test series against England by restricting the home team to 246 on the opening day of the Southampton Test. On a track which looked like suitable to the batsmen, Indian pacers ran through the top order as England were reduced to 36/4 and six down at 86. But Sam Curran turned up with the bat once against with a brilliant 78-run knock to help England to go past the 200-run mark. India ended the day at 19/0 in the four overs they batted before stumps.
