England ODI skipper Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings are set to give their respective IPL teams Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils a major boost as the IPL slowly crawl towards the playoff stages. The duo returned to England taking leave from the ever so popular T20 league to feature for their national team in the Royal London Series against Ireland.

But in a dramatic turn of events, the duo has decided to make their way back to the Indian subcontinent to play the remaining three matches for their respective team which will certainly help the franchises in their qualifying missions.

Morgan and Billings will play the second and final match against Ireland at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground and will immediately head back to India. The reason of the decision might be the level of competition which is obviously higher in the Indian Premier League. With the Champions Trophy ready to kick off next month, playing in the IPL will shape the players better for the big tournament.

After completing their chapters with the Indian Premier League, England skipper Morgan and wicketkeeper Sam Billings will fly back to England again on May 15 to be a part of an England training camp in Spain. Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes who were allowed to stay on and continue to represent their respective team in the IPL will also accompany the two in their journey back to their nation.

England will put an end to their Champions Trophy preparations by taking on South Africa in the second Royal London series of the season. The preparatory matches are believed to groom the players up and get them in the mood before the all-important Champions Trophy gets underway.
