England will face India in the fifth match of the ongoing five-match Test series on July 31, at the Kennington Oval in London. England is leading the series 2-1 after winning the third Test. The fourth Test in Manchester ended in a draw after India scored 425 runs for the loss of four wickets in the second innings. England had won the toss and elected to bowl. In reply, England had an opening partnership of 166 runs between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. Both the batters scored a half-century each. Ollie Pope had a similar outing and was dismissed for 71 runs. Joe Root and Ben Stokes put England in the driving seat with their knocks of 150 and 141 runs, respectively. Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets for 143 runs in 37.1 overs.
In the second innings, India lost the wickets of Jaiswal and Sudhrasan for a duck in the first five deliveries. KL Rahul and Shubman Gill had a partnership of 188 runs for the third wicket. It looked like England was back in the game once both the batters were dismissed. However, Washington Sundar and Jadeja didn’t allow England to settle. They added 203 runs for the fifth wicket and scored their respective centuries.

England has already announced the playing 11 for this game and a total of four changes have been made. The biggest of them all is that Stokes is not a part of this game. He has been ruled out due to a shoulder niggle. England has picked Jacob Bethell in place of Stokes for this match. Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton, and Josh Tongue have replaced Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson, and Brydon Carse in the playing 11, respectively.
