Former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis scored 11579 runs in his ODI career. This includes 17 centuries and 86 fifties. He managed an average of 44.36 and a strike rate of 72.89 in the 50-over format. Kallis, who made his ODI debut in 1996, completed 10000 runs in 2009. He took 272 innings to reach the landmark making him fifth-fastest in the record tally.

4. Ricky Ponting – 266 innings

Ricky Ponting is considered among the greatest ever batsmen in the history of the game. He scored 13704 runs in the ODI format with an average of 42.03 and a strike rate of 80.39. Ponting completed 10000 ODI runs in 266 innings in the game against South Africa in 2007. He hit a total of 30 tons and 82 fifties in ODIs.

3. Sourav Ganguly – 263 innings

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly stands at the third spot in the record of fastest to 10000 ODI runs. He reached the landmark in 263 innings in the ODI against Sri Lanka in 2005. In total, the left-hander scored 11363 runs at an average of 41.02 including 22 centuries and 72 half-centuries.

2. Sachin Tendulkar – 259 innings

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar held the record for being the fastest batsman to 10000 ODI runs for more than 15 years. The iconic player achieved the milestone in 259 innings in the match against Australia in 2001. He has the most ODI runs, centuries and half-centuries to his name.

1. Virat Kohli – 205 innings

Indian captain Virat Kohli is the current record-holder for being the fastest player to complete 10000 ODI runs. He achieved the feat in his 205th innings while playing against West Indies in 2018. Till now, the prolific batsman has scored 12169 ODI runs in 245 innings at an incredible average of 59.07. This includes 43 centuries and 62 half-centuries.
