The second edition of the Global T20 Canada is set to get underway on Thursday and it promises to be bigger and better than the previous year. The defending champions Vancouver Knights will face the Toronto Nationals in the opening game of the season. It will be a historic occasion as two legends of the game, Yuvraj Singh and Chris Gayle will walk out for the toss and the tussle will be the one to watch out for.

Both the sides have some attractive players in their squads. Toronto have the likes of Kieron Pollard, Brendon McCullum among others in their team apart from Yuvraj. The Knights, however, have retained their core from the last year which won them the title. Rassie van der Dussen, Gayle, Fawad Ahmed and Tim Southee all played for them in 2018 and once again, they look like a force to reckon with.

Match Details

The 1st match of the Global T20 Canada 2019 will be played between Toronto Nationals and Vancouver Knights at the CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario.

The match starts at 12:30 PM local time (10:00 PM IST) (4:30 PM GMT).

This game will be live on Star Sports and live streaming is available on Hotstar.

Expert Advice:

Brendon McCullum’s name hasn’t been listed by Dream11 and there is confusion if he is part of the Toronto Nationals yet.

It is better to wait for the playing XIs as there is not much clarity over the perfect squads.

There is also a rule to include five full member players (inclusive of marquee players), two Canada players, one ICC Americas region member player and three ICC Associate member players in the playing XI. We will get more clarity once the first match is played.

Probable Winners:

Vancouver Knights have better depth in their squad and they are expected to win this match.
