The final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played between the new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 29 (Sunday). Both the teams will look to put their best effort to lift the cup and become champions of the current edition.

Both teams have performed exceptionally well in the tournament and would want to win the last match to be crowned champions. The new entrants have already beaten RR in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2022. However, the Royals from Rajasthan made a good comeback during the playoffs stage and reached the finals after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

IPL 2022 Final: Will rain affect today’s important match?

According to Accuweather, it will be warm and clear on Sunday evening in Ahmedabad. The temperature is expected to be around 30 to 35 degrees. There was no dew in the second qualifier and will not be any in the final as well. As a result, the skipper winning the toss might want to chase in this match.

The pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium was a little tricky for stroke-making as the ball was not coming on to the bat during Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022. The spinners are also expected to get some assistance from the wicket. It remains to be seen how both teams will implement their plans on the field.

As per the IPL guidelines, a Super Over will determine the result if there is no play possible within the regulation time. If the conditions don’t allow even the Super Over to take place, then the team that finished above at the end of the group stage (Gujarat Titans) will be crowned as the winner.

Meanwhile, for the final, the Super Over will need to start by 1.20 am. This means that the pitch and ground must be ready for play so that the Super Over can start at the latest by 1.20 am (final). However, it is very unlikely that rain will play a spoilsport in the IPL 2022 final match.
