Former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly has finally revealed his opinions on the ongoing spat Harbhajan Singh is involved in with some of the spinning enthusiasts following some of the allegations he made. Harbhajan Singh, a fantastic spinner in his own right went on to controversially state that he would have also thrived on these conditions.

Sourav Ganguly, who had just taken over the captaincy of the Indian team presided over some of the best bowling spells Harbhajan had bowled at the time. This also includes the hat-trick and a plethora of 10-wicket hauls the 36-year old had taken in that fateful series against Australia in 2001. That was a performance that established the off-spinner as a mainstay in the Indian squad.

Speaking about the same, Ganguly added that Harbhajan should take it easy whilst speak about the same. He also added that he was a champion bowler and needed to move on. “He’s (Harbhajan) has got to take it easy. He’s been a champion bowler, and he should move ahead.”

In recent times, Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the mainstays and perhaps the most important parts of the Indian team. However, Harbhajan Singh suggested via a tweet that he was being lucky by having pitches prepared for him by the Indian curators in recent times.

Ganguly also added that this fact was not something that made him a lesser bowler. He also said that he would probably take 40 wickets on the same wicket compared to Ravi Ashwin.

The 44-year former Indian captain said,” Harbhajan is a great bowler and has been a great servant for India and he should not bother about these things. I know if he had got some of the recent pitches to bowl on, Harbhajan would have got 40 wickets, but he did not but it doesn’t make him a lesser bowler than anybody.”
