The last match of IPL 2022 saw Gujarat Titans getting the better of Lucknow Super Giants by a colossal margin of 62 runs and with the win, GT have sealed their playoffs berth. Lucknow, who were at the pole position before the last game due to superior NRR, will now have to assess their strategies once again to maintain a strong stand in the rest of the T20 league. In the same light, LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir came up with a motivational speech in the dressing room where he threw light on the team’s grey areas.

Gambhir added that there is no harm in losing with one team bound to win the game. However, it shouldn’t look like one side has given up which seemed to be LSG’s case against the Titans last night. Gambhir further stated that a team shouldn’t look weak as there is no place for weak in IPL or any other sport, where the mentor also added that Lucknow lacked game sense against Hardik Pandya and his men.

“There is nothing wrong in losing. It is absolutely fine. One team has to win, one team has to lose. There is a lot wrong with giving up. Today, I thought we gave up. We were weak. Honestly, there is no place for weak in a tournament like IPL or in sports. That is where the problem is. We have beaten teams in this competition, we have played really good teams in this competition. But today, I thought, we lacked that game sense which was more important,” said Gambhir in a video shared by LSG after the game.

The former India cricketer stated that the Titans bowled well but one shouldn’t always expect the other side to not bowl well with world-class players playing in the IPL. Talking of the match, though LSG were successful in stopping GT at 144 runs, the stunning bowling attack by Titans didn’t let Lucknow settle in even for a moment. As a result, the KL Rahul-led franchise just got wrapped up on 82 runs, losing the contest by 62 runs.

“We knew they bowled well, we expected them to bowl well. It’s a world-class competition we play against international bowlers. We want people to challenge us, that is what we play the game for,” Gambhir added.
