‘I went into shock and threw myself on him’ – Pat Cummins’ fiancée Becky Boston narrates their proposal saga

Pat Cummins, the Australian fast bowler, did the honours of proposing to his long-term girl-friend Becky Boston a few days ago. Prior to the ethereal moment, Boston, Cummins’ fiancée, had no clue about proceedings and was left head-over-heels. The Aussie paceman chose a picnic spot to propose Becky after which he got the champagne bottle out and then went down on one knee.
Narrating the beautiful moment, Becky said that Cummins’ approach for the proposal was romantic. The arrangements made by Cummins surprised Becky to such an extent that she threw herself on her loved one after being taken by complete surprise.
Pat Cummins shocks his girlfriend
“Pat surprised me with a picnic down in the country and I had absolutely no idea it was coming. I was a little bit suss when he pulled out the bottle of champagne. It was very romantic, he got down on one knee and I think I just went into shock and threw myself on him,” Boston was quoted as saying in the Herald Sun.
Both Cummins and Becky took to Instagram and shared pictures from their proposal. Becky uploaded a photo along with the pacer. Captioning it she wrote, “My forever person. I am the happiest girl in the world right now!!”
Even Cummins put up a picture where Becky can be seen flaunting her ring, wearing a big smile on her face. His teammates, David Warner and Sean Abbott also congratulated the couple on the auspicious occasion.
Becky, who was born in England and runs an online store selling luxury home furnishings, was over the moon after being showered with love following her engagement with Cummins. “We are so, so happy and have been overwhelmed by the love and kind words we have received from everyone,” she added.
On December 19, Cummins became the highest overseas buy in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The speedster fetched a significant INR 15.5 crore from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
After the announcement, Pat revealed what his fiancée had in mind, appreciating her priorities. “My girlfriend, the first thing she said was we can buy the dog a couple more toys now. So, she’s got her priorities sorted,” Cummins said in a press conference.
