India completed a 2-1 series win over Bangladesh as they got away with a 30-run win in the deciding Nagpur T20I on Sunday. India posted a solid total of 174/5 in their 20 overs on what deemed to be a slower track. Bangladesh lost a couple of early wickets but Mohammad Naim’s explosive knock of a 48-ball 81 kept the visitors in the hunt.

He stitched together a 98-run stand for the 3rd wicket with Mohammad Mithun whose contribution was only 27 runs in the partnership. Deepak Chahar’s record 6-wicket haul and Shivam Dube’s three crucial wickets helped India to make a comeback. No other player even got double digits as Bangladesh were bowled out for just 140 runs.

All the statistical highlights from India’s 30-run win against Bangladesh in Nagpur:

Another youngster shines for Bangladesh:

20y 80d – At the age of 20 years and 80 days, Mohammad Naim became the youngest player to score fifty in T20Is against India. The previous youngest was Afghanistan’s Noor Ali Zadran, who was 21 years and 295 days when he scored 50 in the WT20 2010. Naim also became the youngest player to score a T20I fifty on Indian soil.

81 – Mohammad Naim’s 81-run knock is the joint 2nd highest T20I score for Bangladesh in a T20I chase. Tamim Iqbal scored an unbeaten 88 in the 2012 Dhaka T20I against West Indies while Nazimuddin also scored 81 against Pakistan in the 2007 Nairobi T20I. Unfortunately, all three knocks resulted in defeats.

143 – Runs aggregated by Mohammad Naim in this series; the most by any player for Bangladesh in a bilateral series. The previous most were 140 runs by Sabbir Rahman in 2016 against Zimbabwe but in a 4-match series.

Chahar @ 50:

50 – Yuzvendra Chahal completed 50 wickets in the T20I format with the wicket of Mahmudullah in Nagpur. He became the 3rd Indian to claim 50 T20I wickets in Men’s cricket and the quickest to do so among the three.

Indian pacers rule the game:

9 – Number of wickets by the Indians pacers (6 by Deepak Chahar and 3 by Shivam Dube) in this game; the joint-most by them in a T20I game. The Indian pacers bagged 9 wickets in the 2007 WT20 final against Pakistan as well.

10 – All the ten wickets India took in this game were picked by the bowlers who did not take the new ball. This is the only the 3rd instance in T20I history where all ten wickets were picked up by the bowlers coming in as 1st change or later.

Pakistan in the 2009 Dubai T20I against Australia and Jersey against Guernsey this year took all the ten wickets with the bowlers introduced as a 1st change or later.
