The Indian team is set to face the Windies for the 3rd T20I on Sunday. By winning the first two games, the team has already won the series and the last game is just a mere formality. So, the BCCI has decided to rest three crucial players. Hence, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah have been released from the squad for the last game.
This decision was taken to keep these players in good physical condition ahead of the crucial Australia tour. India will be playing three T20Is followed by four Tests and three ODIs Down Under. Consequently, this trio will be extremely critical to help to defeat the Aussies in their own den. Given that they have played non-stop cricket for a while now, this break will help them prepare both mentally and physically.
Kaul added to the squad
The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Siddarth Kaul to India’s squad for the final T20I. The management will be looking to make a few changes to the side to give all the players a go. Yuzvendra Chahal is a certainty to make it into the XI in place of Kuldeep Yadav. Also, either of Siddarth Kaul or Washington Sundar might get a go.
The management might also try to slot in Shreyas Iyer in place of Shikhar Dhawan or Rishabh Pant. If Iyer comes into the side in place of Dhawan, KL Rahul might open the innings and he could play at number three. Pant might get an extra opportunity to prove his mettle. The rest of the squad remains unchanged.
