The top-order batsman has been an asset for the team. 29-year-old Ajinkya Rahane has silently gone about his business of scoring runs across all the formats of the game. Rahane has scored over 6000 international runs since making his debut in the year 2011, and he continues to be one of the most reliable batsmen in the top-order for India. As a fielder in the slips, he is a safe bet and he has grabbed the elite most club among the contract holders in the same fashion.

The no. 2 all-rounder and bowler in the ICC Test rankings, Ravindra Jadeja is one of India’s prime match-winners. He has cemented his place in the Indian Test side and has continued to perform well in limited overs cricket too. He along with Ashwin proved to be too good for the oppositions over the last year and a half. Even though Jadeja didn’t feature for India in the recent limited overs games but he continues to be with the best at the top spot in Indian cricket.

Test match specialist Cheteshwar Pujara has cemented his spot in the Indian side, courtesy some mammoth knocks in the longest format of cricket. The top order batsman posses a sound technique and impressive appetite for runs. Pujara has stayed away from the fast paced lanes of T20, even white ball cricket and takes immense pleasure in turning out for India in the whites apart from facing the red cherry in all conditions. He too finds himself in the Grade A list of players.

7. Murali Vijay- 2 Crore

Opener Murali Vijay has played some gem of an innings, both at home and away. He was side-lined from the Indian team due to an injury earlier this year and is set to make a return to competitive cricket. India have tried quite a lot of openers over the last five years and the Tamil Nadu right-handed batsman has impressed the selectors with his stroke-play and entertained viewers too. Vijay is one of the seven players in BCCI’s Grade A contract list.
