The Punjab cricketer staged a remarkable comeback into the Test fold with this series. After he was diagnosed with a rare germ cell cancer at the prime of his career, he had to miss out on a majority of the action. But, with some great domestic performances, he forced his way back into the team.

However, this series wasn’t as fruitful for him. He scored 125 runs in 5 innings in the first three Tests and was subsequently dropped for the fourth game. He hasn’t played a single Test till now after being dropped back then. Although he made a few other comebacks to the ODI team, the stint was quite short.

Parvinder Awana bowls at a quick pace and has the ability to move the ball off the pitch. He was the leading wicket-taker for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 5 although he played fewer games than the others. Hence, he was roped into the team in place of the Zaheer for the fourth Test. Although he didn’t play that game, he made his T20I debut against the same opposition in the same year.

But, with him failing to show any promise at this level, he was axed and was never to be seen again in the India colours. The 32-year-old last played a match for his state team Dehli back in 2016. On 17 July 2018, he announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket is working as the bowling coach of Delhi for this season.

Piyush Chawla was brought into the side for the fourth Test in place of Harbhajan Singh. With loads of domestic experience and his IPL performances backing it up, he was picked in the playing XI. He was just 23-years-old back then.

Chawla picked four wickets in one innings in that Test. However, he was never to be seen in the Indian team after that appearance. He has had problems with his consistency. Chawla moved to Gujarat from Uttar Pradesh and currently represents the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He is 29 now and is fighting hard to make his way into the national team.

For the fourth Test, Ravindra Jadeja was picked in the Indian team in place of Yuvraj Singh. The all-rounder performed well at the domestic level and was picked in the XI. He accounted for three wickets in the match which was ultimately a draw.

Since then, there was no looking back for this man. He outshined Ojha and was a regular member of the side across all three formats although he had his own shares of failures and successes. In between, he was axed from the limited-overs sides but has made a comeback recently during the Asia Cup. He is the number five ranked Test bowler and is second on the list of best Test all-rounders.
