Pakistan rubbed shoulders with Australia for the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021. The men in green, while batting first, set a fine target of 177 runs for Australians to chase. Things were looking all good for them until pacer Hasan Ali dropped Matthew Wade off Shaheen Afridi in the penultimate over to see things turning in a quick span.

As soon as Ali dropped Wade, he smashed Afridi for three straight sixes to take Australia into the finals with one over remaining. However, the match is over but now the emotions of people are getting better of them and in the same light, several fans abused the Pakistan pacer for his error on the field.

As several fans went on to abuse Ali, several Indians have come up to stand with the pacer. As soon as the match got over, skipper Babar Azam went on to speak about the match and added that it was that one catch that changed the result for them. Even Azam received backlash for the same.

However, he later made up for it in the press conference and stated that they are backing Ali as he is low on confidence and that he has won many matches for them. In the same light, people are also attacking him on social media for his community and that he married an Indian lady. Pakistan lost the semis clash against Australia by five wickets.

“I don’t feel like that. He is our main bowler and has won many matches for Pakistan. Players do drop catches sometimes. He is fighting it out and I will keep backing him. Every player cannot perform in every game. Some individuals who are having a good day try to make the most of it and come up with good performances. Yes, he is a bit down. We will keep backing him and giving him confidence. People will say a lot of things, but we are behind him,” Babar Azam said in a post-match presser.
