When the format of T20 cricket hit the strides a decade ago, it was believed to be a batsmen’s game and a killer of the spin bowlers. But as the game evolved, the leg-spinners became lethal weapons and wicket-taking ones. In the current season too, the leggies have dominated the proceedings. Imran Tahir, the surprise package Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal have been the best bowlers for their respective sides.

Tahir for the Rising Pune Supergiant is the current leading wicket-taker in the league so far with as many as 6 wickets in 3 matches and holds the Purple Cap. Just behind him is Rashid for the Sunrisers with 5 wickets in 2 matches. Both have been outstanding in the tournament so far and have made it difficult for the batsmen to score off them. Rashid holds the best figures by a bowler in the league so far when he bagged 3 wickets for 19 runs against Lions.

The other leg-spinner in the top wicket takers is Chahal for Royal Challengers who has made it tough for the batsmen. He has 3 wickets to his name in as many games and has given away runs at only 6.09 per over. Adam Zampa for Supergiants too did decently well and the way these bowlers have bowled certainly has redefined the concept of spin bowling in T20 cricket.
