With the fourth week of the Indian Premier League (IPL) coming to an end, there hasn’t been much change in the top half of the table. However, not all teams have been faultless. While teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have continued to dominate, there have been a few slip-ups from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), that has cost them a match apiece.

The margin for error is fast diminishing for all teams, considering that the group stage is about to draw to a close. The bottom half of the table is looking to concentrate on winning every encounter remaining while the top teams are aspiring to maintain consistency. This week has seen some of the most high-octane encounters of the entire tournament. Let’s take a look at the 5 biggest follies teams committed in the fourth week of IPL 2018.

1. Dropped catches from CSK against KKR

Sunil Narine has probably been KKR’s major impact player since the last season and he’s carried that streak forward into the ongoing edition of the tournament. As a player, the Caribbean spinner hits those blistering boundaries and sixes that gives his team the ideal start to combat big scores. Hence, dropping such a major player twice in two consecutive deliveries was bound to cost CSK the match and so it did.

The encounter between KKR and CSK saw the latter further lose the grip on the match when they were unable to restrain young Shubman Gill. At a score of 64-3 with Chris Lynn and Robin Uthappa both back in the pavilion, KKR had been struggling to get a foothold in the game when Gill hit a sensational unbeaten half-century and wedged the door wide open for his side. CSK’s inability to get him out turned out to be one of the major reasons for their defeat.
