Rajasthan Royals once again got over the line riding on Jos Buttler’s form whose record fifth consecutive fifty helped them register their 3rd consecutive win of the season. The Royals improved their qualification prospects with the 6th win of the season while defending champions Mumbai Indians slumped to 7th defeat. MI’s batting in the 2nd half cost them the game as they finished with 168/6 from 87/0. The Royals chased down the total with ease as they got over the line with two overs to spare with seven wickets in hand.

2 – Only the 2nd time Rajasthan Royals have defeated Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Their last win at this venue came in the 2011 edition and they lost four times in four attempts after that win.


5 – Jos Buttler became the 2nd player to score five consecutive fifties in the IPL. Virender Sehwag also scored five consecutive 50+ scores in the 2012 edition.

Buttler is also the 4th player after Sehwag, Hamilton Masakadza and Kamran Akmal to score five consecutive 50+ scores in the Twenty20 format.


10 – Number of ducks Rohit Sharma has to his name in the IPL while playing for Mumbai Indians. Only Harbhajan Singh (13) has more ducks for MI in the IPL than Rohit.


12 – Rohit Sharma now has 12 ducks in the IPL including the three he bagged in the ongoing season. Only Harbhajan Singh (13) has got more ducks in the IPL than Rohit. Piyush Chawla, Manish Pandey, Parthiv Patel and Gautam Gambhir are the other three players with 12 ducks each in the IPL.


473 – Surya Kumar Yadav now holds the record for scoring the number of runs as an Indian uncapped player in an IPL season. He went past Paul Valthaty’s tally of 463 runs that he scored for KXIP in the 2011 edition.


509 – Jos Buttler‘s tally of 509 runs in this tournament is the highest by a wicketkeeper from England in a Twenty20 tournament. Craig Kieswetter scored 497 runs in the ten innings he batted in Natwest T20 Blast 2014.

Buttler’s tally is also the highest for an overseas wicketkeeper in an IPL edition surpassing Adam Gilchrist’s 495 runs that he scored in the 2009 edition for Deccan Chargers.


1036 – Jos Buttler completed 1000 runs in the IPL in his 36th innings; 389 of those runs have come in his last five innings. Buttler scored only 647 runs with one fifty in his first 31 innings in the IPL.
