When the Kings XI Punjab arrived in Pune for the last league game of the IPL 2018, they had their task cut out. They needed to beat the Chennai Super Kings by a margin of 53 runs or more to qualify for the playoffs. Neither could they keep the margin in their mind, nor could they win the match. As a result, they have crashed out of the tournament. And this is very disappointing for their fans and the owners, including Preity Zinta.

Ever since the tournament commenced, Preity Zinta has shown immense interest in her team. She has ensured that she makes it to the venue for every KXIP game possible and has been very loud with her cheers. Much to her disappointment, the team ended up at the penultimate position of the points table after the conclusion of league stages.

The Bollywood actor wasted no time in taking to the micro blogging site Twitter to issue an apology to all the loyal fans of the Kings XI Punjab. It is worth noting that at one stage in the tournament, the Kings looked like an obvious team to make it to the playoffs. They had won five out of the first six matches they played.

But in the next 8 matches, they could win just one. Preity cited the very same point and remarked that it is disappointing to see her side crash out after having such a brilliant start to the season. She said sorry to her fans and even promised that the team will not let their fans down in the next edition of the tournament. In other news, Ravichandran Ashwin also came up with a tweet after the final defeat.

Here is the tweet that Preity Zinta came up with:

“Who would have thought that after winning 5 out of 6 games in the beginning @lionsdenkxip would have ended the #Ipl on this note. I’m sorry to all our fans & supporters for not being up to the mark this season. Next year we won’t let you down. #disappointed,” Preity Zinta wrote in her tweet.
