The 3rd-week matches of the 2018 IPL edition witnessed many last over thrillers with only a few of them going in the way of the chasing teams. A mixture of low scoring and high scoring matches were recorded during this week. Sunrisers Hyderabad stood out as the team of the week as they defended scores of 118 and 132 in consecutive matches with strong bowling attack.

All the major stats and records that were recorded during the 3rd week of the IPL 2018:

1 – Yusuf Pathan became the 1st player with the double of 3000 runs and 30 wickets in the IPL. He completed the milestone during the game against MI becoming the 13th player with 3000 IPL runs.


5/14 – Ankit Rajpoot became the first uncapped player to bag a 5-wicket haul in the IPL during the game against SRH. His bowling figures of 5/14 are the 2nd best bowling figures to be on the losing side in the IPL. Adam Zampa recorded figures of 6/19 for RPS in 2016 which was also against SRH.


10 – Shreyas Iyer became the first captain to hit 10 sixes in an IPL inning during the game against KKR. Adam Gilchrist hit nine sixes against RCB in the 2011 edition for KXIP when he scored 106. Iyer also became the first Delhi Daredevils player to hit ten sixes in an IPL inning.


18y 169d – Prithvi Shaw became the joint youngest player to score a fifty in the IPL during the game against KKR. He equalled Sanju Samson’s record of scoring a fifty in the IPL at the age of 18 years and 169 days. Prithvi also became the youngest player to open the innings in the IPL at the age of 18 years and 165 days during the game against KXIP.


33 – The 33 sixes hit during the game between RCB and CSK are the most in an IPL game. The previous highest was 31 sixes during the DD-GL game in the 2017 season and in the CSK-KKR match earlier this season.


74 – In the game against CSK, Sunrisers Hyderabad took the field without Shikhar Dhawan in the playing XI for the first time in 74 IPL games. Dhawan featured in 73 consecutive IPL games for SRH after missing the first seven games in the 2013 edition.


93* – Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 93 against KKR is the highest individual score for any player on their IPL captaincy debut. Aaron Finch’s 64 for Pune Warriors against KXIP in the 2013 edition was the previous highest.


118 – The total of 118 SRH successfully defended against MI is the 2nd lowest total in the IPL. Chennai Super Kings won by 24 runs while defending 116/9 against the Kings XI in the 2009 season. SRH also became the first team to defend 120 and below score twice in the IPL as they defended 119 against PWI in the 2013 edition.


122 – Gautam Gambhir’s 122-match streak of representing his teams in the IPL came to an end when he was left out of the DD-KKR match. Gambhir led his teams in all those 122 matches he played since the 2010 edition. No other player captained in as many as 122 straight IPL matches for the teams they played.


150 – Yusuf Pathan and Kieron Pollard joined the list of players with 150 sixes in the IPL. Yusuf completed the feat against CSK while Pollard achieved during the game against RR both on the same day.


5000 – MS Dhoni became the first player to score 5000 runs as captain in the Twenty20 format. He completed the milestone with the six in the penultimate over off Mohammed Siraj in the game against RCB.
