Delhi Capitals (DC) are currently in the second position of the points table in this edition’s Indian Premier League (IPL). After losing against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the Shreyas Iyer-captained outfit held its nerve against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi. Kagiso Rabada’s stupendous show in the super over helped the Capitals steal victory from the jaws of defeat.

Their next match is against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), who beat Mumbai Indians (MI), at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. KXIP, led by off-break bowler Ravi Ashwin, are in the middle of the table with two wins from three games. For the DC, they don’t have statistics in their favour as they have won only one game out of six at the venue against Punjab with their last victory here coming way back in 2010.

Pitch Conditions

The pitch played decently in the previous encounter between MI and KXIP. Batting second seems to be the way forward as dew is expected to play a part. The temperature will be around the 25-degree mark with the humidity level around the 50 percent mark.

Punjab aren’t expected to make any changes. KL Rahul and Chris Gayle will open the batting with the swashbuckling Mayank Agarwal at number three. The onus will be on Sarfaraz Khan and David Miller in the middle order. Mandeep Singh is the other batsman. Hardus Viljeon, Mohammed Shami and Andrew Tye are the fast bowlers with Ravi Ashwin and Murugan Ashwin being the spinners.
