Rahul Tewatia played five games for Delhi Capitals last season but didn’t have much to show, except for 26 runs and 2 wickets. Therefore, it was a correct decision from Delhi Capitals to trade him this year. However, it isn’t clear what role will he play in his new franchise.

Rahul Tewatia primarily plays as a spinner. However, Rajasthan already has Shreyas Gopal, who was the fourth-highest wicket-taker last season. Also, the team has brought in Mayank Markande as the second spinner. Since these two will be the main spinners, Tewatia might have to only warm the bench throughout the season.

Tewatia was traded at a price of Rs 3 crores, which is a hefty amount. Therefore, the franchise might have made a huge blunder by bringing him in the squad at such a high price.
